T&Ps for Family Kitty

My dad told me last night that their younger cat, Coco, was just diagnosed (like, 2 days ago) with early leukemia, ie, FeLV. He's a Ragdoll they got from the same breeder where they got their other, older Ragdoll, who my dad is now going to take in for testing (they're not old cats; both are still under 10). They never go outside, so this is something Coco must have had since he was born, right? But how does that happen in a breeding situation? I know nothing about their breeder, but my dad and step-mom are not the lackadaisical types to go for some crappy byb situation.

I'm just so sad for my little sister. She's 12, and Coco is basically her best buddy. He sleeps with her, he follows her around, he loves her more than anyone else in the house.

It just reminds me of my Riley. Of when they found the tumor in his lung, and he went through all his treatments, and he didn't even make it a full year after that. I really hope they can help Coco better. It'd break my heart to see them lose him. :(
