Anyone never get wet naturally and have to use lube every single time?

We pretty much have to use lube every single time we have sex in order for it to be remotely comfortable to me.  I guess even if I am aroused, I am still too dry for whatever the reason.  Just wondering if its just me or anyone else??

Re: Anyone never get wet naturally and have to use lube every single time?

  • I've had to use it just about every time for the last year or so. I'm going off hormonal bc soon because of that and other symptoms I think may be connected.

  • Yup. Handing over the lube is part of my foreplay. :) It also lets him know that I'm in the mood. Sometimes I'll apply it to him and sometimes I won't. It works for us. You're not alone.

  • My BCP caused this for me. Now that we're TTC and I've come off it, it's not an issue anymore.

I know when I do go back on BC, it'll be something non-hormonal because that wasn't a good time for us. We'd just gotten married and were having sex twice a month if that because it's the only time I seemed to get aroused.

  • I also had this problem while on birth control, so if you are, that might be your issue.  As long as sex is still enjoyable, though, I don't see a problem with using lube every time.  IMO, sex can feel better with lube anyway.

  • Another one for having this problem while on hormonal BC.

If this is the case for you, just use lube and understand this is normal for a lot of women.

  • Are you aroused despite not being naturally wet?  Do you think you have enough foreplay to get worked up?

  • I do get wet, but we still use lube every time. Just feels better that way.
  • Yup, BCP did that for me as well.  Looking at the other ladies' responses, this may be your problem too.

  • Yup, every single time while I was on BC. Now that I'm off I can tell more and more that I am getting wet. I will say if you do use lube, platinum is a great one to use. Feels great!
  • I had been on birth control for a while and never had this issue, but I got pregnant and had a miscarriage, since then I'm back on birth control and it hurts way too much without anything additional.

I'm guessing it could be the BC after reading this, but I never had the issue before.

You're going to be drier when you're not ovulating. When you're close to ovulating, you're naturally wet, and thus will end up wetter when turned on, downside is, this is when you'll most likely get pregnant.

I've never had a problem getting wet, it just takes a lot of foreplay. I'm also not on BC though.
  • This has been a problem on and off. Also, I never really cared for the jells and such. Since discovering coconut oil everything has gotten much much better. It's not recommended with condoms or any latex, but that's not a worry anymore since I'm done having kids.
You should give it a try-it doesn't get sticky!

  • yes, when I was on BCP.  It sucked so bad I got off of them and went back to just using condoms. I won't get on that again.

  • We had to use lube the entire time I was on BCP. Once I got off it we haven't had to use it since. It make take a few seconds for me to get comfortable, but it usually isn't a problem.
