Wondering if anyone has any suggestions?? We are planning a trip to Boston in May, after searching on the internet I have realized that we cannot afford to stay directly in the heart of Boston ($300-$600 a night) Were looking to stay 2 nights. Anyway if anyone has any suggestions on hotels or cities right outside of Boston Id greatly appreciate it! TIA!!

When we went April 2011 we stayed at the University Hotel-Brigton Best Western hotel, I can't get link I work from phone. It's on 1650 Commonwealth Ave. and included breakfast and parking and was across street from T train
I would suggest Cambridge. Did you try the South Shore? We ended up getting a great deal at the Westin Boston Waterfront...I also had friends stay at the Seaport hotel and they got a wonderful deal (it was booked when we went). Both h
Try Priceline name your own price- stick to back bay/Quincy market area and 3-4 stars. We've done this tons of times and gotten great deals. The only reason I can think of for May that you won't get a good rate is college graduations.  
We use priceline exclusively for a weekend in boston. I always request a 4 star and have never paid more than $100.00 per night.
