Abby the bulldog question again- kinda gross

I am switching her food to wellness...and her poop has been really loose.  i basically started mixing the old food in with the new so it was gradual.  is this normal?...does it firm up after she gets used to it?

  • Dietary changes very commonly cause loose stool.  Some dogs are more susceptible than others.  Usually things will clear up on their own after a few days. You can add a spoonful of pureed pumpkin to his food to help with diarrhea.

  • It can take up to six weeks to see the "final result" of a food change. That being said, some foods just don't work for some dogs. Innova is a highly rated food, but it was way too rich for my (now ex-H's) lab. It may just take some trial and error to fin
  • Ditto RHB.

    If you've done the food switch gradually enough, the upset stomach issues should be pretty minimal. But Wellness, while a fantastic food, can simply be too rich for some dogs. Abby might just need a different food.
