H and I have been tossing this idea around for a while and I think we are ready to move on from this area. The golf course we are on is bankrupt (surprise, the owner is a jackass) and is on sale now. The crime in our neighborhood is going up with mostly vandalism and its just frustrating. Thankfully nothing to our house/cars but I just found out my neighbor 2 doors down had their car vandalized.
In the past week the power in the clubhouse that is owned by the golfcourse got shut off which means nobody can access the fitness center and the private playground we have anyone can now access because the power has been shut off and the powered locks dont work.
I wish we knew half the stuff about this area when we were moving in that we know now. We were in such a rush to buy because H's job was relocating that we didnt have too much time to look nor did we really know what to look for being first time home buyers. When we came here for the weekends searching we would literally see over 40 houses in 2 days and everything was just a big mush of info.
What sucks is that there are area's around here that we would actually like to be in. H would love to be closer to work but anything around the base is just crap. Thankfully our house value hasnt gone up or down so if we were to less we wouldnt lose too much. I just dont know what were going to do. I dread living here but I love how close to DE we are.
H has been contemplating looking for a new job. I think the biggest decision we have to make now is if H wants to stay at the same job and we look around this area or look for a different job in a totally different area all together.

Re: I really want to move....
Weren't you tossing around the idea of moving to PA a little while ago? Is that still an option?
As someone who lives on a bankrupt golf course, I would tell you to move now.
I lived next to Bel Air for almost 2 years. TBH - I couldn't wait to get out. There's plenty to do, lots of places to eat, shop etc, but the traffic is horrific. It takes me less time to get home from work coming to North East, th
