Hi

Hey girls.

Just wanted to pop in real quick. Things are going ok. The surgery went well and the dr was very happy with the repair. Colin has his breathing tube out immediately but the next day they suspected an infection in his belly. The cardiologist said his body was probably pumping blood to more important places and the belly has bacteria in it which could be why that happened. He's on day 5 of a 14 day antibiotic and can't eat till after that. At that point he will start out eating a teeny tiny bit. It's very frustrating bc it's a set back and will keep us here longer than we should have been. I just want to get home and enjoy maternity leave but at the same time I know it could be worse and I should be thankful that he will be ok.

Right now I'm just fired up bc they can't find 8oz of breast milk I left for him. Something tells me it was put in the fridge instead of freezer and it expired.

So anyway, that's that. He's on the up and up and I just need to keep perspective. It was just a rough morning. We might actually sleep at home tonight just to regroup and be comfy for an evening. We'll see!

Re: Hi

  • Thanks for the update, I was worried when you went quiet on FB. Glad to hear that he's on the mend, sounds like you've got two little troopers!

I can only imagine how I would deal with someone "misplacing" 8 oz of liquid gold. Ugh.

    Ho

  • UGH AT THE BREAST MILK!  Haha.  I'm so glad you're staying positive.  I give you mega props Momma, you are doing a kick @ss job at hanging in there.  I hope he gets better soon and you all can go home!

  • Again, you are amazing.  I'm sorry for the setback but it sounds like Colin is on the mend, slowly but surely.  We're all still pulling for you guys.  I hope Andrew is continuing to do well also.

I don't blame you if you had gone

  • Thank you for the update. I, too, was a little concerned when you went quiet on FB, but did not want to pry. Sorry about the setback, and the damn breastmilk!  Hope the comfort of a night at home helps alleviate the stress of being at the hospital.&n
  • Thanks, girls. I actually forget about FB haha. I will update again soon :) in the meantime, crisis averted! They found the milk, thank god!!

Andrew is doing well. He is with us and just hangs out. He's so quiet and chill, which is awesome.

  • Happy to see this post from you! I was concerned when I didn't see an update on here from you, but also know you have many more important issues to tend to right now. You are doing a great job, and your family will be a stronger bunch once this passes.
  • I been praying and thinking of you and little man. Thanks for the update! Keeping up the good vibes for him and you guys !

  • L&I have been thinking about you guys.  Glad to hear the surgery went well.  It sucks about the setback, but hopefully this will be the only one, he'll heal quickly and then you can all go home together!

  • At that time DS had been in nicu for almost 3 weeks. I think it was part sheer exhaustion and a major helping of the nurse that did it was my favorite and came to me crying when she saw me.  They also had a head neonat. Come tell me and put huge sign

  • I'm so sorry about the setback, and it's hard to look at the positive when you're so tired and mentally drained...at least they know what it is, and he's on the mend. I've spent many pumping sessions crying in that little room, too. :) It helps to let
