Priceline questions?

Anybody use and recommend priceline for hotel reservations?  My DH and I are looking for one night reservation in Myrtle Beach but don't want to get stuck in a nightmare hotel.  I wondered if I choose a 4 star rating and ask for $60 per night if that is reasonable or what?  Its not a high traffic weekend that I can tell for events, etc.  TIA
