Asked before but what do you do with mail, keys, etc?
I am going to go DMX on my husband if he keeps piling mail on the counter, coffee table dining room table.
When you walk in the kitchen door there is a butcher block cart and that is home to j's watch, wedding band, wallet, keys. mail gets dumped on counter or table or coffee table. shoes get piled despite the fact i bought a lovely shoe cabinet for front door (a whole 35 feet away). I debated buying another cabinet like this

for kitchen entry but that seems silly. I also debated hanging file system. any ideas or suggestions short of separate homes would be greatly appreciated.

By our back door (the one we use the most) we have a large coat hook/rack on the wall. There is also hooks for keys. I have a shoe tray for shoes directly under that. I'd love to say that my husbands belongings make it to those designated places. Lol.
Mail is usually dumped on the island until I go through it and then on the counter next to the phone is a little junk corner where coupons, gift cards, keys, etc. are.
Brent puts his shoes and coats away in the hall closet every.single.day
