Staying fit while traveling tips needed

Hi Everyone, I am new to this board and am looking for some advice. I have a job that ensures I spend 2-3 weeks per month in a hotel. Typically, I can get into the hotel gym early before my meetings but lately my additional work load keeps me from the gym. I am looking for some tips on a DVD that gives you a good workout but doesn't require lots of space to complete as hotel rooms are not that spacious. Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!

  • Pilates and yoga DVDs are good because they don't require much space or any equipment, and with yoga you can get a full-body workout.  It would double as a stress reliever too!
  • With the time you'd spend doing the workout DVD, can't you just hit the gym in the hotel?

  • Usually I miss the gym hours at the hotel :(  but if I can make it that's my preference.

  • i use the niketrainingclub app on my phone and LOVE IT.  it would be perfect for travel or at-home workouts!  I always seem to go for the quick 15 minute target-area workouts...and those still kick my butt >.<

  • Just to add another idea with all the other amazing tips... There are a couple of DVD programs that are cardio related (that require no equipment) or toning related that require a resistance band or two!  Check out www.beachbodycoach.com/jagcat381 under programs to see if you'd be interested in one of those!

  • There are a slew of full length workouts on You Tube, from Jillian Michaels, etc.  With it being a work trip, I'm assuming you'll have internet access and a laptop.

  • hello Erin1911,

    Try these tips:

    * Do not Starve Yourself: Your body cannot tolerate having insufficient food to fuel the energy that you use up.

    * Start your Day Right: Have a healthy meal in the morning to jump start your metabolism. Your food intake after you wake up will be used to burn fat all day long.

    * Drink lots of water: Your body needs sufficient water to burn fat and keep your cells hydrated and healthy.

     * Avoid too much sugar: Plan your meals around lots of fruits and vegetables. Sweets, sodas, and pastries should be once in a while indulgences only.

     *Watch your Fat intake: Consume healthy fat like Olive, Peanuts, canola oil, Tuna, Salmon and Makerel have Omega 3 fatty Acids.

    * Exercise whenever possible.

    *Then Have Enough Sleep.

    Hope It Helps :)
