Who is participating in the "Great Shake Out"?
For those who dont know what it is, it is an earthquake drill. At 10am we are suppose to "stop, drop, and hold" for 1 to 2 minutes. This is suppose to help prepare us for the "big one".
I know that schools are participating and some businesses. So I was just wondering if anyone here is participating.
Re: Who is participating in the "Great Shake Out"?
I read about it last night. Sounds very interesting.
?Here's the article for those who want more info: ?http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/quake_drill?
We are! It's actually "drop, cover and hold on!" I don't know why that line makes me giggle, I think it's the hold on part!
Now how I'm going to get 48 preschoolers to do this for 2 minutes is beyond me but we're going to try. For us it's going to be more about what to do in general so it will take some work ... but it's good for us!

I don't know if our office is --i have to go back for a "catch up" staff mtg, so I guess if everyone suddenly drops under their desks I shouldn't be confused...
or I could confuse everyone else by shouting "drop and cover!" and falling to the ground.....
In my office some people seemed interested in doing it; others kind of laughed it off. I actually missed it. I was in the restroom and when I came back some of the women were mockingly calling "earthquake" and knocking on the walls and saying, "Stop, drop and roll..." Then they realized thats the line for fires. lol
Oh well, I guess the good intentions were there...
