Realtor Rec's?

Hi there,

Anyone on here? Its totally dead and I need tons of advice. We're moving to the SD area any day. I've lived in the Pacific Northwest (Portland, OR) my entire life and have no idea what SD is like but DH just got a new job and he starts May 13th. We need a realtor or someone to help us find an apartment or home to rent. I know nothing about the area, what areas are good, which to avoid, what are the schools like? My oldest starts Kindergarten next year. I need Dr.'s, a Pediatrician, a Chiropractor, Nail Salon, Hair Salon for hubby, myself and the three kidlets! Where are the best parks, are there indoor play areas for the kiddos? DH's job is in Poway but it looks insanely expensive to live there, where should we look in the surrounding areas? Any advice is SO appreciated. TIA!

Re: Realtor Rec's?

  • Hello! I happen to be a Realtor in SD. And there is so much to tell!

First, don't worry about Drs. salons, parks, etc. There are tons and every good part of SD has plenty of access to all necessary amenities.

Poway is great, but it is expensive. North San Diego as a whole is very nice (and higher priced), so you don't have to worry about bad areas (which are typically in the southeastern part of the county).

If you are interested in buying, look into Santee and Tierrasanta.

If you're interested in renting, look into Mira Mesa, Miramar, and Tierrasanta.

I hope I gave you a good starting point. Let me know if you have questions.

  • @dreamergirl8812 i am looking for a place to rent. I'd like to stay anywhere that is close or off the 5. I live in southbay now but am willing to go as far up as encinitas. Do you know of a good realtor who can help me with this if you cannot?
