I know I'm way late on the bandwagon with this one, but I finally got an email today that FreshDirect is now delivering to my zip code.
Does anyone use them? How are you experiences with quality? delivery? service?
Anything in particular you really like from them?
Re: FreshDirect
I'm no help, but I have been stalking the website waiting for our zipcode to come up and it has!! Yay!!
I've heard good things from my NYC friends, but nothing about the prepared food. This is so exciting, considering I sent DH to Whole Foods & Shop Rite yesterday and he still managed to forget things with a list.
i am ADDICTED to fresh direct! it's fantastic! i've ordered from them about 4 times in the past 2-3 months, and everything has been really great quality. i've gotten produce, meat, seafood, and deli items. i try to buy based on what's good (follow the star ratings), and i always try to get an item that's on special - they were featuring pixie tangerines the last time i ordered, and they came with part of the tree still attached! haha! they have always arrived within the 2 hour delivery window, my orders have been very well packed, and i have absolutely no complaints so far. i hope they keep expanding their grocery section, so i never have to go to the food store again.
if you want, give me your e-mail address. i can send a referral code, and you'll get $25 off.
We tried it out because I had two 50 dollar off coupons. Produce really varied and one week we got tiny things the next huge. We got our yogurts crushed. The prices are the same as whole foods.
Also we found the meat gross personally.
We LOVE it, used it when we lives in NYC and as soon as they opened here, started using them. I loathe going to the grocery store now, it's such a chore, like I'd rather wash the bath tub.
Letranger is right about the produce, you can't chose what size you want, but that's something I'm willing to sacrifice. I've always found their meat to be great and good prices on seafood. The prices are the same or $.50 more than Wegmans for just about everything. I haven't found anything that was really over or under priced.
Oh I LOVE grocery shopping! One of my favorite things. That's why this bedrest makes me sad. I love shopping for anything.
Nope! I like it, too. Then again, I really like just shopping in general.
