I'm in the middle of C25K (just finished W3D2) and I'm noticing that my calves are hurting about halfway through each run. However, it is only the sides of my calves (not the center back like usual place you stretch). Are there any stretches I can do to stretch out this specific area before running?
TIA!

Re: Calf stretches?
I had to get up and try this out! I think your best bet is to do your regular calf stretches, but shift your body weight to the side until you feel a stretch in the right place.
However, I would do these stretches after running, not before. There is no conclusive evidence that suggests stretching before a run prevents injury, and there is some evidence that suggests it may actually increase your chances of injury. I would stick with a dynamic warm-up---skipping, lunging, etc.
