First Anniversary

Hi everyone,

My first wedding anniversary is coming up on May 26th. My husband and I decided to spend about $100 on each other. I did a shutterfly book of some wedding pictures and honeymoon photos. The place we got our wedding cake is remaking our top tier of our wedding cake for free and we will be enjoying a bottle of champagne from out wedding night that we saved. We will also be enjoying a nice dinner out which is not included in the budget. I am having problems trying to think of things to get my husband. An anniversary is more of a spend a great night together event than a gift giving event for me. Anyone have any ideas of gifts for a first anniversary for a husband?

I gave my husband a Tiffany silver pen for our first anniversary.  I wanted to give him something special that would be a keepsake and he loved it.

Tickets to a sporting event or concert? It goes with the "paper" anniversary, can fit in your budget, is a fun night out, but is also a gift you can give him.

I gave H a pocketwatch, inadvertently adhering to the 'modern' 1st anniversary: clocks! But get him something you know he wants and will use. You certainly know him better than we do. I may very well get H a season of one of his favorite shows on DVD this year for our second.

I had one of our wedding pictures blown up and printed on a wrapped canvas.  Our wedding photographer distressed it to look antique.  It came out beautifully and hangs in our living room.  DH loves it!

I'm planning a romantic weekend getaway that's about  a 2 hour drive from home for our first anniversary.  There's nice restaurants and a winery.  Plus a Jacuzzi suite and a little sex, and you can't go wrong. Ha!

We really aren't gift people, so on our first anniversary we had a weekend getaway.

I was just going to ask this same question!  Our 1st anniversary is June 2nd. We just planned a weekend getaway but I would still like to get him something special with it being our 1st anniversary.  I'm not sure what direction to go in.  The pen and pocketwatch were good ideas.

We are staying in the Marriott that we got married in tomorrow for our first anniversary and arent exchanging gifts. Romantic time alone together is what matters to us on our anniversary

This is more our style, as well. We're taking a weekend getaway to a nearby town and splurging on a jacuzzi suite. No physical gifts!
