Help a Bride, join my Beachbody Rock the Dress Challenge

Ok, I normally would not reach out like this, but I really can use all the help and support out there!

I am a Team Beachbody Coach and I do know a thing or two about health and fitness. The problem is --- I am human. With all the stress of planning a wedding (out of town no less), I've been letting my diet and exercise routine fall off the priority list.

To help me along, I started a Rock the Dress Challenge Group to help cheer me along and hold me accountable. What better place to find participants with similar goals ... HERE!

Let me know if you'd like to join the challenge. Drinking Shakeology once per day and/or starting on a Beachbody fitness DVD is definitely recommended but not required :-)

Re: Help a Bride, join my Beachbody Rock the Dress Challenge

  • Hi there Cayla!

it's great to hear that you bought some DVDs and gave them a try!!!  that is the toughest part - getting started, taking that 1st step!  it's disappointing to hear about your results, but all is not lost!

Can I ask which DVDs you purchased and what you consider your fitness level to be?  Maybe you bought a more advanced level fitness program which is why you are finding it harder to stay motivated and usually end up hurting.

One of the tools I use to stay motivated is to create a facebook challenge group (what I mentioned above). It's a group of like-minded people who are all trying to achieve health and fitness goals. We post in there daily, about our good days, our not-so-good days, what's working for us, etc.  We are basically each others' cheerleaders and hold each other accountable!!

Something else that may work for you is to schedule your workouts, just like appointments. I have all of my workouts in my calendar each week - less likely to find an excuse to skip them!

There is also a product that Beachbody sells called Results & Recovery which helps your body replenish and recover from those really tough, hard workouts (helps lessen those sore muscles).

If you'd like, shoot me a friend request on Facebook and I'll add you to that challenge group!  We're all trying to get in shape and be healthy for one reason or another!  Oh - and the group is private so nobody can see what we're posting :-)

    My name is Lisa Onorati.

  • So sorry for the delayed response. It was my birthday, turned 40-"something". Then with shopping for Mothers Day and my Dad's birthday, it been a crazy few days.

I would never make fun of you. If running and repeating the warm up / how to sections of the DVDs was enough for you to start out with, then stick with that until you are ready to move on.  I don't always follow the recommended fitness calendar that comes with the DVD. I progress at my own pace; therefore, I do the workouts at my own pace. There are also modifications to the exercises: Doing push-ups with your knees on the floor, staying stationery (feet on the floor) instead of jumping / hopping through moves. If you experience lots of pain in your legs one day, try working on your upper body the next day to give your legs a day to heal and vice versa.

What DVD(s) do you have?  It might help me to know. I would be able to guide you along a bit, offer more specific suggestions.

And remember, there is a product from BeachBody specifically designed to help muscles recover after workouts --- helps reduce soreness. That's always another option, it's called P90X Results and Recovery Formula.
