Can we talk about the cicadas?

I feel like this is the bug version of War of the Worlds.

I was 13 the last time this happened, and I remember those little carcasses being EVERYWHERE. So of course now I'm imagining D crawling around the yard and trying to eat them. Yuck.

According to the article they can be "quite delicious" and they also provide you with a helpful link to cicada recipes. "If you can't beat em', eat em'!" Ahhhahahha, this is far too hysterical for me handle.

Cicada Pizza, anyone? I bet they are a wonderful source of protein! Wink

I don't if it was last year, but I definitely remember hearing about them in the not too distant past.

My nephews think the shells are just the coolest things ever, and stick them all over their clothes...and then chase me.  Not cool!  God help me if I have boys Tongue Tied.

At least the stink bugs have seemed to subsubsided.

  • I am legit afraid of these things!  I'm hoping and praying we won't get them in the city????  I will cry!

I was entering 9th grade the summer these buggers were here and my family moved to an 1800's farmhouse for the summer months while our new house was being built.  I'll never forget laying outside on a lawn chair to get some sun in the backyard and one landed on me.  Total phobia here now.  I actually fear going to my parents this summer because I know they will have them really bad Indifferent
