Newbie here!
Hi everyone! I am a newbie to TN (although I have lurked for a little while to get the feel of the boards here). I married my high school sweetheart in May 2010 (I can't believe it's already been three years!). We have 1 furbaby (a cat, named Evie), and will be closing on our very first house at the end of this month. We definitely want children (2 girls, if we could pick!), but we're waiting a few more years since we are still very young and DH is still finishing up school to be an engineer/architect. We are very close to his family, but have an odd/strained relationship with most of my extended family...
I joined just to get to know other married couples and see what married life is like for others our age (got married when we were 19/18- so now we are 22/21) since we don't have any married friends that are our age in our circle of friends.

Hi! Welcome to the nest. When is your anniversary? My DH and I also got married May 2010, our anniversary is the 21st.
My DH is 29 and I'll be 29 next Tuesday. We have been together for 13 years, We have two furbabies- a 1 yr old puppy and a 3 yr old cat.
Hi there! I'm another young bride, DH and I got married August 2012 when I was 19 and he was 21- high school sweethearts! We also want children but are planning to wait a few more years until I'm done my university degree. I think it's definitely different to be a couple of married university students but we're lucky here to know a few others in a similar situation at DH's school. DH is in military college and so we're living very far away from all of our family and don't get back very often, which can be tough sometimes. SIL is getting married in a couple months though, so we're excited to head home for that!

Am I the only person who hates the term furbabies? It makes me cringe.
Happy early anniversary to you too! hehe we actually have nothing planned as of yet. Just last night my DH asked me if i wanted to go bowling with a group of his motorcycle buddies on the 21st. I said thats our annivesary, so he goes, do you want to go to dinner and then go bowling?!!! Seriously hubby? *face palm*
Haha, that sounds like something my hubby would say! We will be closing on our first house around the 30th, so we aren't doing anything "big." We planned a trip to Disney, but we are post-poning it until after we move/get settled. I am racking my brain trying to think of something to get DH. For our wedding and 1st anniversary I got him watches. Last year we went on a cruise and I suprised him with a couples' massage. No clue what to do this year!!!
Yeah, we dated for a few years before we got married- all of our parents got married young, so when we had been dating for 4 years, and then finally turned 18, they were like "when are you gonig to get married?!?!" It's kind of the norm in our families, I guess... Now they are pushing us to have kids, but we are definitely waiting until we are a LOT older before that happens.
That term (furbaby) has grown on me... DH calls her my "kid." As in: your kid was attacking my shoelaces when I was trying to tie my shoes.
