Hey Emmy! You had asked for Jake's party about decorating/making super hero masks, didn't you? I think you ended up finding a kit? Just curious what exactly the kit was and did you have them decorate? How did that go?

Dd wants a teenage mutant ninja turtle bday party this year! I was thinking of doing masks in the turtles' colors and having them decorate them. But I think I'm running into the same problem you had with not knowing how to decorate felt! I'm thinking of maybe just doing paper masks instead. But I remembered you did them and was curious how you made it work. Thanks!

  • Hi there!  I love that she wants a Ninja Turtles party, that's awesome!! :)

I ended up buying the kits from Hobby Lobby:

     http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/felt-and-foam-superhero-mask-kit-669200/

It comes with the mask, string, and a ton of foam stickers.  I punched out all of the stickers from the sheets ahead of time & had them in a few cups spread out around the table.  It was the first thing the kids did when they got there, so I had a mask at each seat and kept the strings with me so none would get lost.  The kids were able to use the stickers themselves (though I did have an older sister of one of Jake's friends helping out with the party, so she was walking around to see if anyone needed help)  When they were done, they brought the mask to me or another adult & we helped them tie the string on.  They loved it!
