What is it?

Hey Guys -- for the past few months I have noticed that there's this large spot on my cheek on my face. I see it specifically when I am wearing makeup (it's a light spot that looks like I totally forgot to put makeup on). This isnt' just a speck or a small circle, it's pretty large -- which makes me know that it's not like I missed a spot when putting on my makeup. Strange thing: I don't see it when i take my makeup off at the end of the day!

What the heck could this be??? it's so weird!!!!

Re: What is it?

  • It sounds like your skin lost its pigmentation at that spot. Bing or Google "vitiligo"

Edited: And, then I read you sentence about it "disappearing" when you remove the makeup...which makes me wonder if you have something on your face that isn't allowing makeup to adhear correctly.

Really the best thing is to probably see a dermatologist if you are concerned. Generally it's a good idea to get weird skin things and changes checked out.

  • this is my problem too, and my first advice is DON'T POP THEM! don't touch them in anyway because they just come back bigger and spread! i cleanse and moisturize every morning and evening and it helps loads. i've noticed a difference. they are only teenage spots and are caused by puberty. especially when your coming up to 'that time of month' your hormones rage and that's generally the time the big spots come. as much as you hate going to school with a big spot i would recommend not popping it and just leaving it, as much as they may be embarrassing! a few days left alone and they will go. make up doesn't help either if you try and covering them, it may hide then more but they will never go. but if you want remedies i use clarins and it helps loads, lush do some spot reducing potions as well. the more expensive they are the better the product will be!
