Bumblebee Nest in Ground in my Garden

Help!  I was cleaning out our garden and a bumblebee nest is located in the ground. Please help. Most of the treatment seems to call fr poisons, but I plan on planting vegetables soon. How can I get rid of the nest yet keeping the soil chemical free.

Thanks!

Re: Bumblebee Nest in Ground in my Garden

  • Go to your local home improvement store (Lowe's or Home Depot) and check in their garden area. They sell Wasp spray, which I believe is also good for bees. It shouldn't be a problem if you plan on planting there, but once you've sprayed it to kill them, and are sure they are all dead (you can poke it to see for sure, or keep spraying, LOL), simply dig around the nest to get the nest & about an inch  of dirt around it, and dispose of in a plastic bag. The soil should be ok. We've had wasp nests under outdoor window trim on the outside of our house. The wasp spray works well.

    Good luck.
