Re: What's up?
For the sake of sharing something...
I am loving this creamy peanut butter dip. I eat it by itself or with apples. I make it with non-fat yogurt to save on some calories.
I just dowloaded the Daily Ab Workout for my iPad/iPhone, and I'm loving it. 10 minute routines, several to choose from, which are perfect for tacking onto the end of my runs. I think I paid a $1 for the upgraded version. I think I might download the free Daily Stability Ball Workout - I'll try the free version first.
Get ready to judge me.
a lady I went to high school with, friended me on Facebook a few weeks ago. She's a train wreck and I get so much enjoyment from reading her posts and then the comments from her train wreck friends. DH is in on it too, but doesn't get the same level of enjoyment I do. If I haven't seen her post in a few hours I will go to her wall to make sure I didn't miss anything.
My parents and brother are coming up this weekend to celebrate my dads birthday since I can't travel. I wanted to make him a cake, but I don't think he likes the last one I made (2 years ago) he and my mother both said it was too sweet. It's just a buttercream frosting, I only use sugar, vanilla, real butter and milk or cream. I think they are so used to over processed stuff that their palates have changed. My heart hurts that he asked for a box cake and frosting in a can. Would it be really passive aggressive to get the cake he wants and then make a good one for us?
I'm struggling a lot with this too. Why can't I be the woman who is working in the field, has the baby right there, then straps it on her chest and nurses while going back to work? I seriously asked DH this question this morning.
One of my lowest moments of pregnancy was when I had to ask DH to tie my shoes. It was oddly humiliating. He of course, thought it was hysterical.
I asked DH once... then I got slip ons because I was too embarrassed to ask again
Um you may be my new favorite person for sharing this...yum!
Me and H are still trying to figure out what to do for our 1 year that is this weekend...we thinking a night at the shore now but the weather looking iffy...nothing like last minute. I had this fantasy that our 1 year would be something cool haha
I vote a staycation in center city. We did this for ours last fall and had such a blast. I got a pretty nice room for under $100 from priceline.com name your own price a few days before. We got showered and dressed at the hotel before going out for dinner and drinks. We had a blast!
I've always wanted to do that. I miss living downtown and I would love to have a night that I didn't have to drive home!
I'm telling ya, that dip is my own personal crack! Then again, I'm one of those people that can eat PB straight from the jar.
We also did a Philly 'staycation' for our first anniversary, last May. I booked the Sheraton in Society Hill for under $100 on Hotwire. We got ready down there, had dinner at the Capital Grill, and finished with drinks at Positano Coast (just around the corner from the hotel). The next morning, we grabbed brunch at Sabrina's and headed home. It was a great time.
This time around, we took off mid-week and had a couples message at Joseph Anthony in Glen Mills. We grabbed lunch at PF Changs, relaxed at home, and then had dinner at Flemmings. It was nice just taking a day off from work, and hanging out with each other.
ditto. We did this right before we started ivf. It was fun. And yes, if you bid on Priceline and win, you are automatically booked.
My little nuggets
i had to have DH pull my boots on for my shower bc my legs and feet were so swollen I couldn't fit into anything. He would pull my compression socks off at the end of the day too. I was seriously huge and so swollen that nurses would come visit my room bc they heard they had to come see the girl with the super swollen legs. I went back for a post follow up and they were still talking about me.
My little nuggets
Oh hey, I'm here. I've been lurking, just not posting.
School is done for the year, and yet I find myself busier than ever. What's up with that?
I keep thinking you've left us only to have you reappear! Please don't go away again. We love you!
I'm sitting here during my prep period grading papers and I am baffled at the amount of plagiarism I am reading. I can't count the amount of times I offered help, gave explicit instructions and provided clear examples. I hate that these kids don't understand the severity of it all. And then they will project the blame to me because they will earn zeros on their final papers which will cause them to lose exam exemption.
In other news, DD is so close to crawling and DH and I haven't bought a single baby gate. I feel so behind but we have had zero time to sit down and map out a plan for gates. We have a lot of odd-sized doorways and aren't sure what parts of the house we should gate off.
I am starting to feel the same way! I was feeling great for the past few months, and now I find that I am slowing down big time!
