Hello fellow Nesters! I've been looking to buy new sheets for my bed and have always been confused about thread count. I always assumed that the higher the thread count, the better quality the sheets. Boy, was I wrong! I came across this thread count article that really helped me understand thread count.
Anyone else ever been confused about thread count? In your opinion, what's the best thread count?
Re: Thread Count
That's a good article. Thread count isn't the end all, be all.
My favorite sheets are 350 TC sateen. I don't like high thread count sheets because IMO they're hot at night bc they're so densely woven they don't breathe. I choose sheets solely based on how they feel. If they don't feel good in the package, IME, they won't feel much better once you get them home and wash them. But sheets are deeply personal and there's not a right or wrong answer.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I've heard that after ~300, humans can't tell the difference in thread counts. So a 350 is just as good a 600.
As long as it's 100% cotton, I'm not too concerned with thread count. Polyester blends feel awful to sleep on, but they come in much more colorful prints.
