I need to get back into working out. I am aiming to lose about 5-8 lbs and just slim down/tone up my mid section and legs. I don't have tons of time and my toddler hates the daycare at the gym. Someone mentioned hiit training because it is harder in a shorter time. What hiit workouts do you do at the gym? And is it really enough to work out for only 15 or so minutes?
Re: Those that do HIIT...
it might not be a traditional HIIT workout, but I LOVE the niketrainingclub app for iphone. it has 30min and 15min workouts that can target different body groups (though most give an all-over workout anyway) and can be done at home with little to no equipment....so that might be helpful if the little one doesn't enjoy the daycare. you can easily fit this in and even be quiet if it's naptime.
Being a gymnast for the past 18+ years, these workouts can still kick my butt and are still easy enough to modify for beginners (run in place, or stretch during activities that are too difficult). they go by quickly! I typically do a 15 min workout sometime during the evening....2 if i'm feeling extra energetic!
