My poor German shepherd (Caesar) is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. I feel so bad for him, especially since it was our fault because we were about two weeks late giving him his prevention before we realized that we were late. Now he has to be treated. Because he's so big he had to receive an injection on both sides of his back muscles in the same day. And it was a full 3 cc in each muscle. Then he had to go back to and receive two more injections the very next day! He's so swollen and sore. In 7 years he has never growled at us, but last night when my husband went to pet his fur, he barely even touched him and Caesar growled at him! It made me cry because he's never been in this much paint before. My he won't even go out to relieve himself on his own because he can't get back up the steps
Re: My poor boy
Thanks. He's doing a lot better. I just felt so bad for him. And he was just looking at me like, "What did I do to deserve this?" I called our vet and she told me to give him a couple doses of aspirin a day. Within two hours of his first dose he could move around so much better than he had been. He still can't go out and run around though.
