Are your kitchen appliances all the same brand?
Our home has taken off construction-wise. The cabinets are going in today and we need to get the counter top people out to template it, but first we need to select our cook-top.
And I'm trying to decide if it's necessary to go with one brand/line for everything, or if we pick the pieces we want individually.
Thoughts?
They will be stainless steel if that makes a difference.
Re: Kitchen Appliances
I think my oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher are all different brands. They all have a similar finish, and the way my kitchen is set up, they're not near enough to each other to notice, but they're close enough in finish that I don't care anyway.
We didn't buy a new fridge or dishwasher when we redid the kitchen, so we went with what we had. I loved the oven we found, and then the microwave was just one that fit in the space we had.
I'm happy iwth all of them.
Not necessary. None of ours match and I wouldn't find it odd in a house if they didn't.
When my parents did their remodel, they went with the appliance that they liked best. I don't think one of their appliance is the same brand.
Ours do but really don't think they need to. If I could do again I would soooo not get the dishwasher we go. Ours are GE. When we redid our kitchen and got all stainless we got the appliances through the people who did the kitchen.
How exciting it is all coming together for you. You will be moved in before you know it.
We redid our kitchen last summer and ours match. IDK, I didn't have strong preferences that couldn't be met by 1 brand.
My parents have non matching and stainless steel and you can tell a difference finish wise between the 2.
If you are going with SS I will give my recommendation for frigidaire just for looks. Like I said I didn't have huge preferences but frigidaire's finish seems much more fingerprint resistant than other brands' SS. Functionality they have been fine. 1 of the brands my parents have is frigidaire and that's why you can tell a difference. The frigidaire looks great and the other doesn't, I noticed in store the difference as well.
MIne are all Kenmore elite and stainless
But they were not all bought at the same time. I have always been happy with the brand and the price for what you get.
We bought a french door fridge when we moved in from Sears scratch and dent
4-6 months later the dishwasher we had went so we went to Sears and bought a new dishwasher- it might not actually be an elite now that I think about it...
The Stove we just got maybe 6 months ago as a hand me down from my SIL. DH helped her cut down a tree for 8 hrs at the house she was selling and she paid us with the stove- it was only a couple years old and she didn't want to leave it with the house, but her FI ( is that the abrieviation I forget!) already had a nice new stove and she was moving in with him.

Nope, we just redid our kitchen and we have several different brands:
range: GE Cafe
DW: Bosch
Fridge: KA
We kept our old MW b/c it's hidden in a lower cabinet now. I don't regret/notice that they are different brands at all, except that they are all awesome at what they do!
