"I'm King of the World!"
Hiya peeps.
If Friday. I am going to be the solo dr for practically the whole day. Ahh scurry. But then its a 3 day weekend! Wahooooo.
whats up with you this weekend?
Re: "I'm King of the World!"
"You want to go to a real party?"
I was sitting here trying to think of a really good quote and you beat me to a post. But at least I know today's movie!
Tomorrow DH and I are going to Home Depot to price out some landscaping projects we plan to do in a few weeks. DH has the first week of June off of work and he has BIG PLANS for outside. We'll see if they actually get done but he seems pretty motivated.
On Saturday I also start week 4 of the c25k program which means I have to run for 5 minutes straight.
I may die.
Sunday and Monday we'll be at the ILs. Hopefully the weather is nicer so I can lay out and enjoy the sunshine.
Have a happy Friday everyone!!
my read shelf:
"Wow. You would have gone straight to the bottom."
For those who don't know, we're officially homeowners. Last night was our first night in the house officially after 2 weeks of moving in. It went well. I don't know if I was just exhausted or what but I went straight to sleep and didn't hear a sound otherwise. Right now the house is a big jumble. My dad is coming up tomorrow to see the house so I want to try to have it so we can at least sit down.
"I'll never let go Jack, I'll never let go."
Happy Friday!!! I'm so glad we have a long weekend! We are going to a minor league baseball game tonight which should be fun except that it's supposed to be 39! Holy cow, that's cold for the end of May!!! Then tomorrow, my ILs are coming to bring us some patio furniture, I have a (much needed) hair appointment, and we're going to Melting Pot for dinner. Sunday and Monday should be relaxing though and final preparations for the baby. I need to pack my hospital bag and do laundry, but those are fun things.
@Aggie, enjoy being the only doctor today. Blech!
@Liz, have fun at Home Depot. I always feel like I've under-estimated the cost for landscaping by at least $100. Ugh. But it looks so good when it's all done!
@Beanie, HI! Congrats on the house! That's so awesome!!!
Aggie's the boss today.
Enjoy the new house, Beanie! Our house is still a jumble and will be for a bit. Lots of projects, furniture to sell, furniture to buy, etc.
This weekend is all painting and home projects. But, we're getting a grill tomorrow!! A grill is a huge treat in the city because you almost never have outdoor space. We have some now and are going to take advantage!
I have wildly mixed feelings on this movie. I also read recently that some teenagers today think it was "just a movie" and have no idea that it really happened.
"You gonna cut her meat for her, too, Cal?"
"Who is this Dr. Freud? Is he a passenger?"
"My fianc?e and my wife! My wife in practice if not yet by law so you will honor me. You will honor me the way a wife is required to honor a husband. Is that understood?" <-- I love Billy Zane.
Good Morning.
We bought a pool a couple days ago. Yesterday, Monster played in it so hard that he fell asleep 20 minutes after he came out. This was at 7. He just woke up. It was weird. And adorable. He was so out he was drooling. He has also taken to demanding to watch Doctor Who. So he is really into the Avengers, Spider man, and Doctor Who. All boy that one.
He turns 4 in August. I guess I really cannot call him a toddler anymore.
In other news, My dad and step mom are going to be gone for the weekend. They are going to DC. My dad participates in something called rolling thunder. So I will be watching over their cat who was spayed yesterday. (the clicky is info on what rolling thunder is)
Can I also comment on how much I love the fact that the nest does auto spell check on me?
Beenie, Congrats on your new house. I know it feels wonderful.
Joy, I forget what your house is like. Is it detached or a row house or what? How much of a yard to you have? My MOH who is in Philly has a row house. Was astounded by the array of differences one whole row could have in the houses.

Ask me stuff.
W.T.F.? I just don't even know.

Beanie - congrats on the house!
Lois - stay warm at the game tonight!
Joy - Yay for the grill! What do you plan to make first?
ETA: Hi mono! You slipped in while I was busy looking for gifs
my read shelf:
"I saw that in a nickelodeon once and always wanted to do it"
Again, I'm sorry for the sig. It won't go away.
I remember reading a buzzfeed article or something with all tweets and fb statuses of kids who had no idea titanic was a real thing. My jaw dropped.
Here's one: http://twistedsifter.com/2012/04/people-who-didnt-know-the-titanic-was-real/
I want a pool!! I'm jealous, Mono!
Yup, it's a row house. Sorry - townhouse is the more appropriate terminology these days. You can't buy free-standing homes in Center City unless you're rolling in money. And even then, there's very few.
We have enough room outside for a small garden, a grill, and a chair or two. Hehe. My husband has huge dreams of putting in a roof deck like everyone else in the city!
Where does your MOH live?
And yes - every house is different!! It's really amazing how people make their homes their own even though we're all attached!
Here's the outside of our house:

Ask me stuff.
Ah! A movie I actually know!
"We are the luckiest sons of bitches in the world, you know that?"
DH has off today for the long weekend. I also have off, which is nice. But I just want to relax and catch up on my shows, and he's all "let's do stuff". No.
It got cold out. Booo. So cold we're trying to find something we can use to cover our plants for tonight.
We found out a couple days ago that we are allowed to have fires in our yard as long as we're cooking food on them. So yesterday we went to Lowe's and bought a fire pit thing. J's so excited!
Beanie - Congrats on the house! You'll have to share some pictures!
Joy - Yaaa grill!!! It's exciting being able to do outdoor things when you didn't have outdoor space before. That's how we were when we moved here!
Mono - Yay for a pool!
E - You'll do great running your 5 minutes! I know it. We still haven't started yet. I was going to start with a work friend, but she has to find a stroller first because she has a little girl.
my read shelf:
When you edit your sig, try hitting the save button like 20 times. Then it might work. That's what I had to do the last time I changed mine.
my read shelf:
Oh, I just did this!! 30 times (seriously, I counted). It worked!
my read shelf:
And now we celebrate.
Grocery shopping stinks. I go with my list, and I say to myself "I'm only going to buy what is on this list. Nothing else". Then, as I'm strolling up and down the aisles, I see something that is on sale for cheap that we normally eat. And even though we don't need any, I get it. Why? Because it's on sale of course. Who cares if I already have 5 of that item at home. It's like I go through some sort of trance when I'm there.
my read shelf:
That's me. "I don't need that candy bar. It's not necessary" 5 minutes later..."That was a good candy bar."
It's a good thing H does all the grocery shopping. We would end up with way more stuff than needed.
Beanie - what does your siggy mean? Is it from something?
Also, I'm so incredibly bored at work. If I could get away with reading my book somehow, I totally would.

Also, anyone know how to get rid of the huge gap between the text and the gif? Everytime I post, there's a huge gap and it won't let me get rid of it.
my read shelf:
my read shelf:
Are you hitting enter before you post the gif? If you hit enter, it makes the huge space. Trying hitting shift + enter. That just brings you down a line.
my read shelf:
We've started having our groceries delivered. It sounds so ...snobby? Ridiculous? Unnecessary? But geez - I can clean the house and wait for my groceries to come to me. Two birds with one stone!! Two weeks worth of food is over $100 so the delivery fee is $7. Yes, okay.
Beanie - I read Harry Potter and didn't get the reference of your sig
Nope, even with the shift + enter = big gaping hole. But thanks for trying
my read shelf:
It's the elder wand, resurrection stone and invisibilty cloak. It's the Deathly Hallows symbol.
PS Joy, I was totally judging you about having your groceries delivered because I'm jealous. Then I read $7 for delivery and started googling stores around here that do it.
Have you tried not hitting enter at all? Just posting the gif right after your last word where you want it? I'm just totally guessing at that.
my read shelf:
Ugh I would pay that just to not have to deal with the other customers. Most days, I really don't like people that much. And DH likes them even less than I do.
my read shelf:
Uhm that sounds like the most amazing thing ever. I would totally get my groceries delivered if I could!
my read shelf:
Haha!! I still judge me, but the convenience is just too good to pass up.
I would be really surprised if somewhere around there didn't offer grocery delivery. Peapod - what we use - is available from the Midwest to the Midatlantic and up to New England.
Our normal grocery store does delivery. $10 plus a fuel surcharge.
Evita. I really really need you to read at least the first Harry Potter. Like I am willing to send you my copy (a cherished position of mine) so you would read it.
You don't have to like it or read the rest but you just have to read it!
