Gnats in the Potting Soil
My husband and I have several house plants that were originally a dish garden from my grandmother's funeral 2 years ago. Since then, they have grown BIG causing me to transplant each to a new pot. We are now having a gnat issue. They are all over the plants and we can't seem to get rid of them. Any ideas?
Re: Gnats in the Potting Soil
they are probably fungus gnats that feed off of the wet rotting roots...Let your plant dry thoroughly between each watering and if you're keeping them inside put about a 1/2" of sand on top of the soil in the pot...the gnats cannot lay their eggs under the sand.
Hope this helps
