No Motivation...

So I've been working out since Feb. when I decided I needed a change. I did awesome the first two months I lost 10lbs. In the beginning of April my husband and I bought our first house so all of my time and energy went to moving. After that I got super sick, I've been "better" for about a week and I have NO motivation to workout or do anything. To be honest I don't even feel like eating half of the time!

Any tips on how to motivate myself and keep it up!

Re: No Motivation...

  • You've recently moved, why not get hubby and go for a nice speed walk around your new home, checking out your new area.

Once you start doing again, you'll want to do more, it will give you the energy to continue on your fitness journey.. at least thats how it is with me. Just force yourself for the next two weeks to workout 3-4 times a week and maybe this will get your routine back in order.

    Best of luck!

  • Thanks so much for that suggestion!! It makes sense... I don't know about next week cause we'll be at the beach but I'm hoping to get up every morning and walk the beach, Hopefully!! I asked my husband if he would want to walk around the "triangle" and he said he'd love to! So yay!!

Now I just have to keep my focus when we get back from vacation!

I agree with the previous poster. I moved recently and it had a huge positive impact on my fitness. For the first time in years, I lived in a neighborhood with sidewalks. Within a few weeks of moving, I started C25K and even bought a bicycle. I'm finding that I love being outdoors. Now I look for excuses to get out.
  • I thought about purchasing a bike and riding around. However we don't live in a neighborhood so it might be a little hard to ride cause the road we live on is busy 24/7. =(
  • What about using your move and looking to get fit as a way to find new friends.  Go to meet up.com, or start inviting people around you to join a walking club.  Find a fun class to meet others!  Get creative!  Go out and see what fun activities are happening around you, then join in!  Or, don't be afraid to start your own group!  People are always looking for others to join them!  Its a great way to meet new friends and get motivation to get fit!
Hi my name is Heather! I'd love for you to join me on Facebook for a daily dose of positive motivation and inspiration on living an amazing life! Plus, I know we can really get to know each other better there! www.fb.com/RefuseAgingSkin
  • That's a good idea, but I grew up not even a mile from where we moved to and EVERYBODY around us are I'd say over the age of 60 and not that I'm discriminating against age or anything but I really don't think they'd want to have much to do with exercising and getting fit. My friend and I started a blog and we're trying to be each others "motivation" but we live an hour away from each other so we don't get to see each other all the time and just talking everyday isn't really much help at times! =( I've thought about joining a gym or taking a class but seeing as we're living solely off of my husbands income right now he's very, VERY tight with our money. Which is fine with me cause I'd like to try and do it on my own at first. My worst fear is I'm going to lose all the weight I want and get to where I want to be and then I'm going to get prego. =( lol!!

Thanks so much for the suggestions tho!!

  • not sure if your intent is to get pregnant but I wanted to let you know that being at your ideal weight when you get pregnant will make losing the baby weight ALOT easier. If you are carrying extra when you go in, there is just that much more to lose at the end. Plus you will be more comfortable since you won't have to carry extra, extra weight on your back and knees, and it is supposed to be easier to get pregnant when you are at a healthy weight. Do you have a community pool? That might be a fun place to knock some calories off in the heat of the summer. best of luck

  • My hopes are to get prego toward the end of next year. Which I'm just now reading your post and I find it funny because my husband actually just "made me a deal" we recently had a lovely convo about this and he said when I have until next year when I want to TTC to get down to my goal weight. So I know exactly what I'll have to do to get back to it. I wish we had a pool, but the sad thing is the closest one is I think 45 mins. away. Thanks for your suggestion tho. I truly appreciate it!
