Where did you come from? Planet "Loser"?
Re: Where did you come from? Planet "Loser"?
A lot of the regs are coming from a place where many women go in to their anatomy scan and only care about the sex the baby. Not if he's growing okay, not if there are any abnormalities, but does he have a penis or a vagina. It's kinda sad to read 2nd Tri because of how focused so many people are on it and not on the other things, which are far more important. I openly admit to being completely irritated with the fixation of finding out the sex before birth - cool your tits, people.
However, according to her OP, she just asked and didn't demand. And she said her doctor was unsure at the original ultrasound. I dunno - she seemed very reasonable. But, when she called it the "Gender Scan" it was basically game over for her immediately.
WOHOO!! Yeah Kris!!!
I can't open the page for some reason on the bump. Boo! No drama for me...

Congrats, Kris!!
I have not taken a shower today, nor to I plan to, and I don't even care.
my read shelf:
Aww!! That's kinda cute, actually :-)
A lot of the women on TheBump are very knowledgeable about the steps of pregnancy and what happens. I think they forget that some women truly don't know. It's just the bold face "Yes, that's great about the spine, but can you see a penis??" attitude that gets attacked around there. But, I still don't think the OP did that so I'm kinda meh on the whole thing.
Congrats on your promotion!
Well to be fair, The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a little more intense than the book I'm talking about. And honestly I have no problem renewing books so long as other people aren't waiting. It's just rude to hold a book for more than two weeks past the due date.
my read shelf:
Thanks, guys!
And I agree with Beanie. Some of those girls just like to show off a little.

Woohoo Congrats Kris!! When do you start the new position?
And I can't read the post either. It will load but then my computer adds a bunch of garbage to the URL and it will refresh and not open. Bizarre. But I give Joy a
on the "cool your tits" phrase. Love it.

I getcha, Beanie and EEE (on two totally different topics - ha!)
YAHOO KRIS!! that is awesome!!
Also JLQ dont feel bad about not showering...lately I have been terrible in the hygiene department....I'm not a stinky mess and I always look presentable but by the time I get ds in bed, do the dinner dishes and laundry, the last thing I want to do at night is shower. In the morning I get up at 6:30 and leave at 6:50 for my 2 hour shift. Then I come home and its go go go while DS is awake and I'm lazy during naps and before I know it we're at the end of the day again and I haven't showered. I generally dont go more than every other day so it's not terrible...at least I think it's not.
DS is napping and I should be cleaning my bathroom...must get motivated.
I didn't read the link but I have to say as someone who would do anything to have a healthy pregnancy, that seeing those types of posts of "All I really want to know is boy or girl" is extremely painful. Good for them for not having anything else to worry about but sometimes the naivety is too much and people tend to speak up. I don't think it has anything to do with showing off.
Let's all take a minute to laugh at this gif...
Thanks, but it's ok. It's hard but I also understand the world doesn't revolve around me. You're all welcome to talk about this stuff. Sometimes I ignore you, though, if it's a particularly rough day. And other days I just hope I can offer another perspective.
I completely understand.
This was after the anatomy scan where the doctor was "pretty sure" but not 100% that it was a girl, so at the next appointment (not scheduled for an US) she asked if they could possibly check to make sure.
::hugs::
I couldn't make or receive calls yesterday, and I see someone called me today but I can't get my voicemail or call out to return the call. Boooo. My texts are working just fine, though! hahah. I don't want a new phone. New phones sucks!
my read shelf:
Not exactly sure at the moment. I'm going to be staying at the desk I'm currently at, and will be staying with the department, but my responsibilities will be different and helping with my old (?) department as an overflow when they need it. I'll be learning the new stuff as well as doing my old stuff until they hire someone to replace me and that new person is trained. The accounts I would be responsible for have already been assigned to me (this happened before today actually), so I guess I start now.

Holy moly we have over 50 posts on this thread! Yay for activity :-D. Although it's much harder to respond on the fly on my phone when it's a busy thread.
Congrats Kris.
Overall I think TK, TN, TB leans towards overly judgemental especially on the national forums. I think that's why I avoid it more often than not.
And yay for lots of people knowing this film. Honestly I don't think I would have known it today if I didn't post it ;-)
