Talk to me about trundles

Hey all.  Visiting from the bump.  We're thinking about buying a trundle to accomodate our growing family, as well as visiting family (everyone lives 4+ hours away).  What are your experiences with trundle beds? Any brands you would recommend? Thanks!

Re: Talk to me about trundles

  • We've had a trundle for years, but to be honest I don't remember where I purchased it. It is a white wicker day bed and the manufacturer sold trundles that went under it. We purchased it for my daughter's bedroom when she was little, then it went in the guest room when she outgrew it, now it's in our basement "sports & movie room".

We haven't used the trundle portion often because all our family lives near us. She used it more for sleep over parties.

If you are going this route, I'd recommend getting a daybed with trundle. It serves a lot more purposes into the future than a simple bed.

  • We purchased a trundle with drawers and love it!  Ours is a cherry finish wood "captain style" upper bed which is full sized and the lower bed is a pull out twin with three drawers underneath.

I will need to look up the manufacture for you but it is a nice one.  We paid just under $400.00 for the piece and then had to buy mattresses for it.  Both pieces are platform and work great with memory foam mattresses.
