My husband and I are newlyweds and got married 2.5 months ago. We have
spoken about me getting off "the pill". I have been on it for about 3
years, and the reason I want to get off of the pill is to get back to my
normal weight. I am a healthy eater, drink no pop, eat no sweets, and I
am pretty active--but, the birth control pill has made me about 20
pounds heavier than my normal healthy weight. Children aren't ideal for
us at the moment, because we'd like to enjoy each other and the
beginning of our marriage before bringing a baby into our lives: however
if it did happen, we would the welcome it with all of our hearts. I
have tried everything to get this weight off from the pill, but it isn't
doing much good. If I do not find a birth control that reduces weight
gain, we will just use condoms. However, condoms aren't always so
practical if your in the heat of the moment and there isn't one on
hand. Does anyone know of a form of birth control that doesn't cause
weight gain? Thanks!
Re: Getting off the pill
Have you had any blood work done to make sure you don't have a thyroid issue?
There are options such as an IUD that can stay in 2 years.
Just some options.
Trinessa isn't one that normally causes a lot of weight gain. I'm suspecting this is water weight, if anything, in your case.
Have you ever tried Yaz or Yasmin? They both contain a mild diuretic that helps avoid water weight gain while on the pill.
start tracking your cycle. you're only able to get pregnant 4 days a month. learn your 4 days and go from there.
bc pills are terrible for your body and can cause long standing affects. i stopped mine 6 months ago after 8 years and feel loads better and dropped 10 lbs!
