So my boss is sending me and DH on an all-expenses paid trip to Boston for a couple days (I will be working one of those days).... I was wondering what restaurants you recommend? Activities/things to do?
We will be going to a Red Sox game... and staying in the financial district.
TIA!
Re: Boston...
With only a "couple of days", you will have to choose from many activities. A Red Sox game is an "event" and one that will take up several hours. Yes, I'm a baseball fan, LOL.
If you like history, the best thing is the Freedom Trail with all the historic places in the Boston area. Bring great walking shoes and you can see the Old North Church, Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market, the burial grounds, Boston Garden/Common. I lived near Boston for 6 years, when we visited last summer for one day it my husband's first trip, so we walked around the historic sites.
If you can fit it in, the JFK Library is wonderful, but then we like history and actually remember when he was president, LOL.
The original bar that was the prototype for "Cheers" is the Bull & Finch. Not sure if it's still there. There is a "Cheers" replica at Quincy Market. As for restaurants, I'm not sure, but the North End Italian section has the best Italian food around. I used tripadvisor.com all the time for restaurant suggestions. They are reviewed by actual customers and I've never been disappointed by any choice I made after reading the reviews.

Grill 23 is an awesome choice for a steakhouse if you want a nice dinner with your husband. We ate there last summer and the food was delicious! My husband still talks about how good his steak was.
Like pp said, definitely explore the freedom trail! Also, you can take the red subway line to Harvard Square which has shops, restaurants, and then the campus itself if that is of interest to you.
