Is a Victoria's Secret bathingsuit a worthy purchase?
Re: Is a Victoria's Secret bathingsuit a worthy purchase?
Yes. I've had a few bathing suits from VS for a few years now. We frequent the beach in the summer so I do get a fair amount of wear out of the suits. I think after about 4 years I'm starting to finally see some wear on one of my black swimsuits but I think I've gotten my $'s worth.
I will say that they're very basic materials and not really "lined". Maybe they put extra lining on the lighter ones but something I would keep in mind if you're ordering a lighter color.
Also, some of the "twist" suits are a little more pretty than functional. For example, I have a band top which twists from one boob to the other. It sometimes looks like it's trying to untwist if I'm not laying on the sand or have the little straps attached if I'm taking a walk. But, I think this would be an issue with any swimsuit this style.
I do have to say that I don't notice any stretching or loss of elasticity even after a couple years. This is not something that I can say for cheaper (ie. Old Navy) swimsuits.
I personally went away from VS for a little while and now am going back, especially now that I need some new swim stuff!
They definitely have the swim suits in most of their stores but usually it's hard to find matching ones that are the right size, especially during a sale. I got mine online. Luckily you can return items for free in-store if they don't fit.
Much better than the bathing suits that I used to get from places like Macy's, and definitely noticeably better than the ones I used to get, a million years ago, from Walmart.
My only qualm is that their metallic ones don't seem to hold up so well in hot tubs (the color gets slightly darker), but that might just be that I wasn't able to immediately rinse it, so take that with a grain of salt.
I have not had much luck with their swimsuits. The stores near me don't carry swimsuits, so it's strictly online ordering. I feel like their suits are cheaply made given the price...ie very thin material, not enough lining, seams start fraying after the first wash. I'd rather spend a little more money, and buy something that's better quality. I've been extremly happy with BCBG, and have a couple of their suits for 5+ years. Same goes with Juicy..
