We recently painted our guest bathroom purple and some of the paint seeped under the tape onto the white baseboards. It would take multiple coats of white to coverup the dark purple spots, so I was wondering if I could first remove the purple paint with paint thinner/nail polish remover and then touch-up with white. Do you think this would work? Do you have any suggestions for a better way to do this? Thanks in advance!
Re: Paint touch-up
Thanks for the tips. I tried the nail polish remover...and it works, but it takes the white paint off my baseboards faster than the purple paint that dripped down. I nixed that idea. Although, FYI, I did learn that nail polish remover works to take paint drips off tile and laminate flooring.
I'll try the sandpaper and if all else fails get a fine finishing brush, some good primer and just suck it up and do the multiple coats of paint.
Thanks!
