I know we're all always looking for different books to read. I just wanted to recommend the last novel that I just finished up. It was called The Company You Keep by Neil Gordon. The story covers from the late 60s/early 70s (through flashbacks) as well as 1996 and 2006. There is a little bit of everything mixed in-some action, romance, family relations and it's all layered throughout the book. As you read, you just keep learning more and more about the characters and relationships that brought them together. It's also interesting because a portion of the book is set in the Hudson Valley (Woodstock/Saugerties area). In particular, if you like historical fiction, this is really interesting because I learned so much about the time of the late 60s/early 70s and some of the supposed anti-war movement.
It was actually made into an independent film last winter by Robert Redford. I haven't seen the film yet but am hoping to rent it soon. My dad saw the movie first and then got the book (hadn't heard of the book til he saw the film) and he was the one who recommended it to me. He said the film was good but the book was, of course, much better.
Re: book recommendation
thanks for the recommendation, I will add it to my goodreads list.
