nutrition book recommendation pls

Hi,  I'm looking to read a book that can give me an overview about nutrition,  that isn't a dieting book.  I want just the basic info about vitamins, etc what they do for you, what foods have them and a healthy idea of what to eat.  Im not looking to lose weight but just to feel healthier and more energetic.

Does anyone have arecommendations?  When I go to the book store everything seems so be a quick fix or the latest fad in dieting.  Thanks.

Foods that Harm, Foods that Heal is a good one.
  • I really like the Master Your Metabolism Cookbook by Jillian Michaels. There are a couple of chapter at the beginning about good food to base your diet on, ingredients to avoid, and how different foods benefit us. The recipes are really good and fairly easy to make.

  • Check out this website: http://www.whfoods.com/.  There is also a book by the same author that you can buy with pretty much the same information if you'd rather have it in that format. It has so much information about the various nutrients your body needs, what it does with them and where to get them from. It also has simple recipes for each food. I love it and have learned a lot from it. I think it's pretty much the only resource you need to learn more about nutrition.
