The Basic plan would definitely be cheaper over the course of a year than paying OOP for all your puppy's vaccinations and speuter. I did something similar for our kitten when we got her, and it was nice spreading out the cost. You can certainly cancel after the first year (at which point I don't think it's worth it for monthly plans).
Vet B isn't a Banfield, is it? I was with them before, and I don't like them. You never see the same vet, and they just don't seem to really care about the animals like my current vet practice does.
If Vet B is a Banfield, hands down go with Vet A.

You don't have to pick just one.
We go to to a low-cost clinic for vaccinations and annual heartworm tests/pills.
We go to a regular veterinary practice (similar to your Option A) for exams, if something is wrong, but not urgent (like crusty eyes, or hotspots).
We go to an emergency vet (similar to your Option
for things that urgent, like when my dog got attacked by my foster dog.

I dont think the puppy plans are anything special. Our puppy came with his first shots and the boosters they need to get are 4-6 months from when you bring them home. Our total cost of all the shots was somewhere around $60 or $70 CDN, and that includes the flea and heartworm treatment. His first check up was a physical, they took a stool sample and checked for all the parasites. Our little guy also same dewormed. Labs are a hearty breed so unless theres an accident I doubt you would need the emergency service.
I'm not sure if you have a Petsmart around you but they have a new puppy package you can buy for about $21 CDN. It has 2 free grooming's, puppy chow coupons, one day at doggy day care and a bunch of other goodies. I think there was even a free puppy training session.
I would say save your money, vets are animal people but remember they are a business and have to make money.
There is a website you can go to and it's a vet clinic database where people can rate vets all over North America, leave comments, say what they liked and what they didn't.

Nikki, unfortunately none of the vets we were looking at are on that site. I did look them up on Yelp a few days ago, and Vet A had better reviews. So I scheduled an appointment for Vet A to do a physical and to see how we feel about the three vets in this practice. If we are happy with the meeting, we'll continue there otherwise we will expand our search until we find the right vet for us. We will bring puppy home next weekend and I'll definitely post some pics!
