Re: (Untitled)

  • Why not get rid of it all and just hook your TV up to the internet. DH and I haven't had cable in YEARS. We watch hulu and netflix and are quite pleased.

  • I have no experience with Dish but I do have DirectTV.  However, just like Comcast they raise your bill after the "promotion" period ends.  You end up with a bill just as large as comcast.  Don't let them fool you!  Overall the service works pretty good and while I hear that people loose connection a lot I have not found this to be true except for when it snowed a lot and the satellite was covered in ice and snow.

  • Not sure if you have any big football fans in your house, but we went with DirecTV because you can get Sunday Ticket (it lets you watch every football game, which is great if you've moved out of the cable viewing region for your team).

  • I have had both Dish and Directv and actually worked for Directv in tech support for a year.  I think it depends on what channels you like to watch and what type of setup you want.  If you want the whole home dvr type thing, I think Dish's equipment is better, but I really like the way Directv has their channels laid out and the channels that they give you with their more basic packages.  I would compare their programming packages first to see what meets your needs, and then go from there.
  • We've been with Dish for a few years and are very pleased!
  • We had both Dish and DirectTV.  I was very happy Dish less programming, but the price was very economical, but what was said before about sports then you may want to consider DirectTV.  I know exactly what you mean about cable companies like Comcast, and TWC.  Good Luck to you!
