Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

If you have adopted a child...

Did you have to take an intelligence test?  A few colleagues of mine were talking about this the other day and we didn't know what was standard practice now, though in the past it was required (some thought).

Re: If you have adopted a child...

  • i can ask my friend, but i've never heard her mention it and i asked her for an in depth description of the process (or at least of the process they went/are going through). i'm not sure what is involved in the home study though. i would imagine if you don't have a high intelligence level you may struggle to pass the home study, but i don't really know.
Thanks to our wonderful RE our family is complete!

  • Thanks for responding.  I am just curious...especially since some of my colleagues who thought this was standard practice have been in the field for 30+ years.  I just wonder how much things have changed when it comes to adoption in this country.   Thanks for offering to ask someone.  :)
