Dubai Land World?s Biggest Amusement Park is coming
Dubailand is one of the most ambitious and largest theme park projects in the world! Dubailand plans to be the largest single collection of rides and attractions anywhere else, incorporating several other smaller theme parks under one banner! The construction of this massive complex of family fun entertainment is still under way though the finished sections are open to the public and just as large as any single regular amusement park. Here we will take a brief look at this project as it is too big to get into great detail, but will look at the trials and troubles it has and what the plans are for the future.
Open Parks
Dubialand currently has 4 whole parks open with more planned in the works. These parks are a Dubai Outlet Mall, The Global Village, Dubai Motor City, and Al Sahra Desert Resort. Each one of these sections is more than a full day of entertainment, in itself but together they will make sure no one gets bored! Motor City is a car theme park with race ways, go carts, and displays exhibits about everything with a motor and wheels. If you love shopping and deals (especially given the extravagant nature of Dubai in general), then you can spend days checking out sales in the Outlet Mall. If you are looking for a more cultural form of entertainment, there is the Global Village, with exhibits, shopping and rides for all.
Trouble
The construction of Dubialand is still going on; it has suffered from a number of delays, setbacks, and loss of investors. The project spent a long time on a down swing after some United States based investors dropped out of the project. But with the addition of new investors including Merlin Entertainments, creators of Legoland, construction has restarted in late 2012 - early 2013. Since then construction has come back with a vengeance as even more parks are planned for expansion than ever before.
The Future
In terms of raw square footage only Disney?s Animal Kingdom can beat Dubialand. The collection of parks, shops, attractions, resorts, and exhibits though will tower over all others. Since construction has started up again billions of dollars have been put into the development and securing of this project. The amount of things planned is dizzying. A list can?t even be presented here it is so long! To give an example of the size of it all though, retail shops total is planned at 4 square km, attractions will take up almost 14 square km alone, leisure and vacation themed resorts are almost 30 square km, even ecotourism is represented with a wide 130 square km.
Conclusion
The future of Dubialand is bright and alive, even as construction goes on the park is open to millions each day. It will be very interesting to see and follow the development of the largest collection of attractions and resorts in the world, even if you can?t see it all, or come when only part of it is finished, Dubialand is an experience like no where else.
