Best way to get urine out of carpet

I have a new puppy who has had a couple of accidents on my carpet and on my area rug.  I have tried vinegar and water, but it doesn't seem to get all the urine scent out.  Any suggestions?

Re: Best way to get urine out of carpet

  • You'll need to use some sort of enzymatic cleaner, like Natures Miracle. It's generally the recommended brand for that sort of stuff. They make a spray and also a shampoo version for the carpets.

  • Nature's Miracle all the way!

Make sure you read the directions. You have to saturate the area and let it sit for several minutes to let the enzymes go to work.

  • Ditto Nature's Miracle - you can (and should) use it for any biological stains/messes, including pee, poo, vomit, etc. Definitely follow the directions and let it sink in for some time before rinsing or washing. In addition to the stain remover, I have the Nature's Miracle Laundry Boost that I use to wash all of my pups' things (beds, soft toys, blankets, towels, etc.), and I love it.

Good idea for the laundry! I want their laundry to actually smell fresh, but I hate using any scented detergents on it...maybe the natures miracle will give it a little more of a fresh scent after washing.

  • We got the bissell little green a few months ago and i WISH we had got it the day we brought him him. It works so well at getting peepee out of the carpet, and then we spray the natures miracle housebreaking aid on the spot.

Good luck and let us know how it goes
