I don't really have a question but I just want to vent. The complex that H and I are renting at just gave us a little less than a week's notice that they will have a pest guy entering our apartment and using a variety of chemicals for bugs and mice. We have to remove everything from our kitchen counters and shelves, everything from our closets, and everything from our bathroom. So frustrating!! We have a cat and the notice says nothing about pet health, only that we should remove pet bowls. Luckily my mom can take our cat but our apartment is so small and has no other storage to put our stuff while they are here. So we have to have everything sprawled out on our floors covered in blankets or sheets. AND we're supposed to be going out of town for 3 of the days before they come. We've been here for three years and don't even have any pests (that I know of)

Anyone else have to deal with this stuff?
Re: vent about pest control
That sounds like a huge hassle, but I think I'd prefer that to how it works our current complex, where no preventative pest control is done and there have been serious bed bug, cockroach, and mice infestations...
We're moving, fortunately.

Yuk.
DIY.
I am anti chemical.
I agree that it's better to get it done rather than live with the pests and especially glad that they don't make us pay for it but what an inconvenience!
By the way, after all that, I got two more notices today, both riddled with bad grammar and spelling.
One says that they are sorry but they accidentally gave us the wrong
notice yesterday and that there will only be an inspector in our
apartment on Monday for 5-10 minutes.
The other notice says that they ARE going to be putting down bait gels
for mice and roaches which have pesticides in them but that we can be
in the apartment during this time.
Still nothing about if it's safe for pets to be around it. These people suck!
Are you sure we aren't neighbors?
It's been less of a problem lately (that I know of), but a couple years ago there were a lot of bed bugs, and residents were made to pay for the extermination. I think the management made a reasonable effort to find out who was actually responsible and charge them, but I doubt that worked out for everyone.
