Canadian butting in.
Toronto is 3 hours north from me. They get hot, muggy summers, basically like we do here. It may be slightly cooler,but not by much.

cole got a hearing test, blood perk for iron levels, bilirubin testing, and I'm sure alot more that I don't know about. I didn't opt out of any of them because... Well, I'm not a crap parent. Lol. (Those are all tests that have to be done. I might be missing something optional)
Just google daycare in your area. You should be able to find information online. Here, I have found daycare from about $750 for a month (going 5 days/week) to $1200/month for 5 days/week. And everything in between. I have also found options that only have 2 days available/week and options where you can put your deposit down for your child without committing to a certain number of days/week.
I really don't think we can be much help.

I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and have virtually no morning sickness. It's freaking me out a bit. I know everyone is different, but it makes me feel like nothing is going on inside me. I also feel kind of guilty because when ever someone asks me "How are you feeling?" And I tell them fine they proceed to tell me how terrible they felt. My fear is irrational, I had blood work done Thursday and if my levels were off they would have called by now - I think.
Am I crazy for wanting to be sick? Is my paranoia normal?
Ditto this. It really depends so much on your area. Around here we found prices ranging from about $900/mo to $2000/mo for full time care. A few did part time type M-W-F or Tu-Th but a lot of them don't because in the infant room each baby is assigned their own crib that no one else uses so it doesn't benefit them as they can't use it for another infant when yours isn't there. You are free to send them as little as you want, but at our daycare you will still pay the full price even if they're only going one day. If we tell them in advance she'll be out for the whole week then they will only charge us half price for that week.

We had a hearing test, check for jaundice, heel prick, Vitamin K shot, Heb B shot, and the eye goo. We did not opt out of any though I talked to my doc about the eye goo. In the end I didn't feel strongly against it, so I just went with it. They'll also get their first bath. One other thing to think about is if you want to do delayed cord clamping, donate cord blood, bank cord blood, etc....

I had no m/s during 1st trimester. I was really paranoid something was wrong too. The 1st day of 2nd tri, I had a dose of nausea but that was it. I had a really easy and smooth pregnancy, so maybe you'll be lucky too!

I never put much thought into it until recently, but seeing some posts on my BMB got me thinking. Some mentioned opting out of the first bath, vitamin K shot and eye drops.
I'm all for getting anything my doctor deems necessary, since she is the expert, but I am curious about the pros and cons of some of the other procedures, such as the bath and certain shots. I will definitely be talking to my doctor about it.
All of this. I wasn't sure about doing the eye stuff but it's mandatory within my state so I didn't have the option to opt out. My husband and I actually gave her her first bath instead of the nurse so I had no problems with that,although we didn't give her a bath until she was several hours old. My Dr was fantastic and allowed us to do delayed cord clamping because there were no immediate concerns with myself or the baby. All in all it was a great experience and all of the tests they do are to the benefit of the baby so I was fine with it.
Yeah the ones I am most curious about would be the eye drops and the first bath. The rest seems to have nothing but benefits for the baby, so I won't be arguing against those.
Ill probably get the eye drops, I just want reassurance that its got more pros than cons. As far as the first bath, Im curious about whether it would be possible or better to bath her with me for the first time. Il have to see what my doctor recommends I suppose.
I do know that I would like to donate her cord blood. Whether or not I want to delay cord clamping will depend on the hospitals policy I think.
Infant daycare is 1500 to 2000 per month here, hcol Seattle area. Yikes!

When I worked in a daycare in a rural area in college infant care was around $150 a week if you went all 5 days. The rate was lower for fewer days. If a child no showed or didn't call off by 8 am you had to pay for a full day (due to staffing ratios). We required 3 days a week, again because of staffing.
Our care included (for toddlers/infants on solids and/or finger foods) breakfast and a snack. The rate, however didn't change if they were still on bottle feedings. We also didn't do cloth diapers.
No complaints here! The few days I was sick it was terrible.
I see you are in Bellevue. Are you looking solely in the Bellevue area because that seems to be more expensive than surrounding areas (as expected). We have daycare in Kirkland and paid about $1200/mo for infant care and around $1100 a month once they are out of the infant room. I know it's not a huge difference, but it adds up! There were also some other places around $900/mo but most of those weren't places I'd consider sending LO to.

Definitely best to talk to your doc and get their opinion especially if you trust them. A lot of the info you read will be biased one way or the other. In the end it just has to be up to you to decide though.
As far as my doc's opinion when I asked about the eye drops she said the major concern most people have with it is that it temporarily blurs the baby's vision. She said that newborns can't see that far or clearly anyways, so to her the benefits outweigh the cons but she was comfortable knowing us and our history not to have them administered if we chose not to. The reason they are given is prevent any infection from baby passing through the birth canal which has the possibility of causing blindness. As far as bathing, the first baths will just be sponge baths. They don't recommend immersing the baby until the cord has fallen off which is about a week or so after birth, so I don't know that you'd want to have her bathe with you for the first time, unless you mean you being the one to give her her first sponge bath.
Finally regarding donating the cord blood, I believe if you do delayed clamping there will not be enough left to donate. Also a lot of hospitals are not set up to allow for donating the cord blood. I know several people who also got turned down for donating because they already had enough donors of their specific race/ethnicity in the month they were delivering, so these are all things to check into sooner rather than later.
From what my doc tells me, delayed clamping is totally up to us as long as they don't need to take baby to NICU or whatever else right away, but just remind the specific nurses if that's what we want. She said back in the day, they felt it was best to push all the blood away from the baby but this was found to cause problems (I forget what specifically), then they decided it was best to push all the cord blood to the baby, but this was causing jaundice and now the current thing is for delayed clamping. She had no strong feelings on the matter and my H thought it was kind of weird to have the baby attached for a few minutes, so we opted not to do this either. His feeling again was that we didn't do it with DD #1 and she was fine. Of course we didn't have the option because there was meconium when I delivered her, so NICU nurses needed to check her right away to make sure her lungs were clear. I guess in the end since I am pretty indifferent on it, I felt it would be easiest just to accept their normal procedures.

This varies wildly. Typically, in home providers will be cheaper than a center. DS went to a licensed in home provider and we paid $180 a week. For a center, it would have been at least $250, and we would have had to purchase sposies (we CD). The in home providers were more flexible about part time care in the summer.

I was sick a lot more with DS. With this one, I feel sick occasionally, but it's less often and less intense. Not complaining!

All of this- except I did feel strongly about the eye goop and the Hep B shot and opted out of both. Its a really personal decision though and one you should talk to your dr/ research before!

I am not actually in Bellevue, I am near Bellevue (though I lived in Bellevue for about 2 years) Kirkland might work for us. we don't work in Bellevue :-)

Depends on in-home or a center. I think centers are harder to get minimum days. We send L 3 days/week to an in-home and pay $840 a month. We lucked out finding this spot because it averages about $1500/month around here.
