Direct Buy reviews?

My fiance and I are in the process of purchasing a new home, and thinking of joining Direct Buy to purchase furniture, appliance, electronics, etc. Does anyone have any experiences good, bad, indifferent?

It's a ripoff. You have to pay something like $7k to join, so you'd obviously have to be spending that much to begin with simply to recoup your membership fee, then the prices aren't supposed to be much better than what a savvy shopper can get to begin with. Do a little googling - you'll find lots of stories.

My parents and I have both used them and gotten good deals.  It does cost a lot, though, so your project has to be big enough to make it worthwhile.  My parents re-did a kitchen and bathroom and got great deals on appliances, flooring, cabinets, etc.  But you have to have someone install it for you, so that is extra.  We used it actually to buy a Dutalier glider and it was $300 less than any other store I checked.  So while I don't think it's always the best price, it can be, you just have to do some research.  I also think if you are not super specific on the exact brand/model you want you can find really good deals.  But if you want something super specific they don't carry every brand.

My God, RUN AWAY. Direct Buy is a SCAM. Google "Direct Buy Complaints".

You can get the SAME DEALS on your own. It will NOT save you any money.
