Color Run, Run or Dye, Color me Rad, etc

Just curious if anyone is (or has done) doing any of the 5k fun runs (with color) this summer?

I am doing the Color Run in September and possible Run or Dye in August (if they ever come up with a date!)

Re: Color Run, Run or Dye, Color me Rad, etc

  • I did Color Me Rad last year. It was SO fun!! It's not a race you will be able to time yourself on, because most people walk or jog it. There were a ton of kids there too, so it's kind of like a big party. It's the most crowded race I've ever done.

The color is gluten free this year, too!

My only qualm was that the color throwers kept throwing the color at my head- it didn't hurt or anything, but it got in my nose, ears, and mouth. If I were to do it again, I would definately cover my nose and mouth at least.

The color washed out of my clothes really easily, but my shoes are still pink and yellow, so don't wear good shoes!

    Thanks for the info!

  • It was a lot of fun.  I did it with my husband a few months back.  I'd tell you not to wear anything that you would be upset if it stays a bit colored.  My DH's new black shoes are still colored a bit and my white tank top isn't completely white anymore.  Wear a hat you don't care about unless you want to worry about getting color out of your hair... and I wore a bandana around my neck that I could pull up to cover my nose and mouth when we went through the color stations...and I felt like I didn't inhale much color that way.

     Have fun...they are a blast.

Personally, I have never done any of these runs before. But, I hear great things about the color run from friends! It looks like a blast!

I havent done any either but am doing the Color Run this month (groupon for 50% off helped me decide which one to do) and a friend did the Color me Rad run in Seattle and loved it! For sure looks like fun! They also have glow runs and many different things - to check out if your looking for fun runs. I use active.com to look up runs/races in my area.

  • elineagar - I signed up for a glow run (Radiant Run) in 4 weeks!  Hoping the close deadline will help me push myself a bit harder!
