What are you reading? Did you finish anything good in the past week?
my read shelf:
Re: Book Club Monday
Still reading A Dance with Dragons - GRRM (GoT #5). I'll be reading this for anout 2 months since it's 1100 pages. Well, maybe not, I start my 8 hour days today, and 4 day weekends with Furloughs...
I'm ALMOST done Forever - Maggie Steifvater. THANK THE LORD. It was meh to say the least. The science makes NO sense, but whatever. Another series bites the dust for me.
Plan to start listening to Eleanor & Parks - Rainbow Rowell today.
I don't think I had finished Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens when I posted.. I loved it! I hated the main girl (which a lot of people did, once I read the reviews), but the author knows how to write something steamy! I'm going to have to buy the 2nd one!
I also read The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorenson. It was also really good! It was a fairly simple, quick read, but I really liked it. I was mad when I finished (it ends on a cliffhanger!) and found out that the second one doesn't come out until August.
Next I read Wanted by Sara Shepard (PLL #8) and it is sooo good! Cathy - I know you're reading these books. This one has a major mind **** if you know what I mean! loved it!!
I'm currently reading Glazed Murder (Donut Shop Mystery #1) and it's okay, but I'm bored with it. I will finish it then probably not read any more of them. The only thing I really like is the tasty sounding recipes at the end of the chapters..
I finished Wicked, (PPL #5), Game of Thrones and The Lovely Bones in the past week. I loved them all.
I am now reading A Clash of Kings and Requiem. I love how both books pick up exactly where the last left off. Its almost like the last book never ended. Also in Requiem, the very begining takes place in the town that I live in, which is quite interesting.
Oooh this is another dystopian?? I'm discovering I really like them
I'll have to add it to my "to-read" list
Last week I finished The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling. I really liked it, though I'm glad I was told it was nothing like the HP series. I listened to 3 audio books at work last week but can't remember the names. They were fun light books I could listen to while doing some boring data entry. I'm also listening to Night Strangers by Chris Bohjalian. It is ok, but there was too much build up and I don't think I'm going to be rewarded at the end like I'm hoping.
Mana, I started Eleanor & Park last week! So far it's good, I'm about a quarter of he way through. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on it.
I think perhaps I'm reading too many books right now...2 audio books and 3 library books all due in the next week. It's a good thing we have a long road trip this weekend
Casual Vacancy is definitely on my list! The next trip to the library, perhaps...
I finished Plastic Free: How I Kicked the Plastic Habit and How You Can Too by Beth Terry a couple of weeks ago. Some really enlightening/interesting stuff
I also just finished A Farewell to Arms by Hemingway. Wonderful, wonderful book. I don't want to say anymore and give anything away!
I'll be starting Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut soon. I really like Vonnegut, such a unique writing style.
Glad for all of the reading suggestions!
It is good, just keep in mind, there isn't too much of a plot. It gets a bit long winded in the middle. But, I thought it was worth it to make it to the end.
