Dear Water Department
If you are going to cut our neighborhood's water off to do a routine maintenance then please send us a notice so we can plan ahead. That way my husband who is working 2nd shift doesn't wake up 2 and a half hours before he has to leave for work to find out that there is no water for him to take a shower!

Seriously everywhere else I have ever lived always notifies a neighborhood if they are going to be doing routine maintenance and shut off the water so you can plan. This is the second time this has happened out here...it happened this past summer one day too. Ugh! At least one of our friends was nice enough to let DH come over and use his shower so he didn't have to go to work stinky
