    I'm glad they had fun!

We went to the zoo in the AM for a playdate and it was already toooooo hot at 10am. DS was sweating up a storm and we spent almost the entire time in the water play area of the Big Backyard exhibit to keep the toddlers cool. Then in the afternoon, I took the kids to my grandparents house so I could see my cousin for the first time in ~15 years and meet her 3 boys, ages 4, 7, and 14. It was actually a nice break because DS chased around my brother and the cousins, and my grandmother held DD unless she was nursing.

We also managed to get DS to sleep before fireworks started on Thursday and Friday... but we failed on Saturday. He completely freaked out when they started going off, and he didn't get to sleep until a few minutes before 10 when normal bedtime is 8:30.

We went to NH for the 1st to the 3rd, then to my cousin's house on the 4th. Kids spent so much time in the pools, and running around having fun, they're still recouping from the week. Fortunately, bedtime is well before fireworks around here, and my kids rarely are bothered by noises at bedtime anyways. But, I *do* wish that my neighbors wouldn't play their music quite so loud. I get that it's summer, but that doesn't change our schedules as much as it does those who are teachers and have school aged kids.
