XP - Peanut and her 1 y.o. sis are staying over this weekend
1 y.o. is in a toddler bed at home. Should I get one from ikea (hoping
this is the first of many sleep overs) or an inflatable kiddie bed? It
will be my first sleep over with both girls. Normally Peanut sleeps with me or we do a "slumber party" in living room. I am open to all suggestions. FWIW We are planning to get a daybed for guest room soon so when that happens i can always put the toddler bed in there.
Any ideas would be grand.
sometimes all you really need in life is a pink wig.
Re: XP - Peanut and her 1 y.o. sis are staying over this weekend
I wouldn't get her a toddler bed. I would probably do the slumber party idea. Put a bunch of blankets and pillows on the floor but I would also stay there with them. A 1 y/o possibly waking and roaming an unfamiliar house in the middle of the night would worry me.
Or have DH sleep on the couch and have a slumber party in your bed.

Oh gosh I would never let them sleep alone! You can't trust those two for a minute. lol.
I like the slumber party idea. Thanks.
While I have ya here, I already have one baby gate for stairs but will need another one for top of landing just to be safe. Can you recommend a good one?
I prefer the ones that screwed into the wall for any down the stairs safety. I know Drew can shake the sh!t out of a gate and get it off if its not fixed into the wall. The pressure gates just dont work that great when you have a determined toddler.
I have these. You can take them on and off for when they are visiting or not but the main hardware is always on the wall. It's small though. Also avoid one with a step over bar. Dangerous and annoying for the top of stairs.

Ohhh thanks a bunch Kendra! I really like the fact you can take them down between visits.
I know the girls are already at your house... BUT you can always purchase a side rail for your bed too if you're going to do sleepovers in your bed...

(just an example...)
what did you end up doing this weekend (sleepwise) with them?
Sleepover was a success. We camped out in living room and Joe kept the dog upstairs at night. Great idea Kendra on the side rail.
I had a great time and I salute all you mothers! I did not eat a 1/4 of any meal and not a moments rest. I would not trade it for a thing. They were so well behaved, did not cry for parents and Peanut announced next time we should leave Juliette home since "titi lala's house is MY house".
