Hi Everyone! I said I would update so here goes...
I had a routine checkup Friday with the doctor and had been feeling crampy but there was no progress at the checkup so i just figured she would come late as everyone said first babies do.
Well all night Friday and into Saturday I had on and off contractions but nothing timeable. On Sunday they started to get worse so i called the doctor and she had me go to labor and delivery to get checked out around 6 pm. During the exam (where i was barely a fingertip dilated) my water broke and the doctor was like "well you cant leave now". They monitored me to see if i would start to progress on my own but after a while I still wasn't dilating like they wanted me to so they started the pitocin to get things going and then the pain kicked in. I commend anyone that has a natural birth, but not for me...I finally was able to get an epidural after midnight and sleep a little bit. The next time i was checked it was after 6 am Monday and was 8 cm so the nurse was like probably a couple of hours more and she will be ready to push. I feel like it was maybe an hour if that, H was going to make some calls to his mom and work and I had asked him to ask the nurse if the pressure i was feeling was normal as I know they turn the epidural down at the end so you can push but it was really uncomfortable and I felt like she was coming out. H started going on and on that she said the pressure was normal and i was like "just ask the nurse on your way to make a phone call, please don't argue with me"
Well the nurse came in and i was already at 10cm and of course H disappeared and wasn't answering the phone, thankfully my mom went to find him and he came back and my sister got there just in time (she says im her hero and is so glad she is having a planned c section--she is also pregnant but with her 2nd)
I pushed for 45 min like my life depended on it, ended up with a full episiotomy bc the cord was around her neck, she was in distress and at 7:48 am on July 8th we welcomed Lilliana Cristina into the world at 7lbs 13.5 oz, 20.5 inches. We've been home since yesterday afternoon adjusting to our new life and couldn't be happier, a little sleep deprived but very happy=)
I would add a pic if someone tells me how, i cant remember=)
